Lead Turnaround Safety Manager
Location: Lotte Chemical, Westlake, LA
Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Turnaround Safety Manager to support a major turnaround project at Lotte Chemical in Westlake, Louisiana. This is a long-term opportunity for a Safety Professional with extensive industrial and turnaround experience who can lead safety initiatives, develop site-specific programs, and serve as the primary safety representative for project contractors.

Schedule
  • Start Date: Mid-October 2026
  • Pre-Turnaround: 9/80 schedule through September 2027
  • Turnaround Phase: Transition to a 7-days-per-week, 12-hour shift schedule during the approximately 60-day turnaround period
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement training plans in accordance with plant-approved requirements.
  • Conduct safety training and orientation programs for employees and contractors.
  • Create and maintain project-specific safety plans, procedures, and documentation.
  • Lead new-hire safety orientations and confidently present to groups of 200+ personnel.
  • Partner with subcontractors to ensure compliance with all site safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary safety liaison and representative for Lotte Chemical with all onsite subcontractors.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and provide leadership throughout all phases of the project.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid TWIC Card required.
  • Minimum 10 years of industrial safety experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading safety efforts for large industrial turnarounds, outages, or shutdown projects.
  • Possess at least one of the following certifications:
    • OSHA 30
    • OSHA 510
    • CSSS
    • CSST
    • CHST
    • CSP
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification required.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
Compensation & Additional Information
  • Position is offered on a 1099 independent contractor basis.
  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • No per diem is available.
